Shreveport is the 99th largest town in the USA and is set on the Red River where it was crossed by settlers heading for Texas. It's a 'port' because when it was built the Red River had just been made navigable.

Across the Red River lies Bossier City where Barksdale air force base is located.

Hornbeck, Louisiana

Donna's grandmother lived at Hornbeck, refered to at the beginning of 'A Vested Interest'. It's about a two hour drive from Shreveport. This town, incidentally is where Shelia is from.

 

 

Hexhan, Northumberland, UK

Hexham is a small town in Northumberland, England. Hexham marketIt's the town Richard and Donna visit to get some ginger. Where Donna comments that she has never seen such narrow streets.

Hexham is well known for its Abbey. A market is held there on Tuesdays.
